Pamela Carbone was elected as president of the Board of Education at the board's reorganizational meeting on July 13. She received four votes to Ben Conlon's two votes.

Gary Normington was elected unanimously to a second term as vice president.

This is Cabone's first term as board president and Normington's second as vice president.

Carbone, a science and math teacher in Schenectady, is in her fifth, three-year term on the board.

Normington, a software trainer for Community Computers, is in his second, three-year term.
